For children, their families, and communities to survive and recover from violence or crisis, education is the ultimate empowerment.
This initiative is intended to help young people whose secondary education was interrupted by displacement or systemic socio-economic barriers. Lacking formal credential capital such as GCSEs or A-Levels, they are frequently filtered out by automated student recruitment systems. We help them through processes needed to meet requirements for higher education.
Many students with immigration or impoverished backgrounds fear STEM subjects due to the perceived barrier of advanced technical requirements. We run sessions that are intended to increase the participation of students with immigration history to study STEM subjects at colleges and universities and utilise our volunteer network of STEM professionals to provide career coaching and mentoring sessions. These interventions demystify technical subjects and build the confidence necessary for higher education enrolment.
Many of our volunteers and beneficiaries have watched children drop out of school due to the heavy burden of poverty. Driven by these lived experiences, we have made education our core priority. By providing financial support to disadvantaged children, we bridge the gap, prevent them from slipping through the cracks, and ensure every child has the chance to stay in school and succeed.
